This section is dedicated to describing some of the implementation details of the Avanti Quizlet application.

The quizlet is written using Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME). Other libraries used include the LWUIT framework and kXML. LWUIT was selected to provide a consistent and attractive user interface. LWUIT is also implemented in such a way that it promotes usage of the MVC paradigm to separate the user interface from its implementation. kXML was selected to provide relatively lightweight XML parsing.

Upon startup, the application reads an XML file containing information on the subject matter that the user wishes to learn. The XML file can contain text and links to images and audio files. The user may then display the attributes of items for the subject matter at hand.

Avanti Quizlet is an open source project. Files are hosted by Sourceforge. At this time, only source files are in the Subversion repository. Resource files are not provided.
